Now, get ready for another persona of Shobhaa De, that of a businesswoman.
"It is a whole new avenue for me and I firmly believe that one must not curb one's creativity.
I am going to give this my best shot and, as I always tell my children, do everything with excellence and a sense of commitment." So does this mean that her writing will take a backseat now?
"Of course not," says the lady who describes herself as a "one-woman industry." "Writing is what defines me and I am not going to let go of that ever.

While fiction is seductive, there are so many dramatic and impactful social changes happening in India that one needs to record. Therefore, the dabbling with non-fiction."
After the runaway success of her last book Spouse, De does have some plans up her sleeve but nothing in the works. "I always look for an auspicious day to start something and this usually means my children's birthdays."
And where does she get all that energy from? "My father is 98 years old and, recently, when someone asked him about his energy levels, he said 'I chose my parents with care.'
So I would like to say the same thing though I do feel that I have been blessed with high-energy levels."
